MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ► Represent device sourcing on project teams (early stage development, pre-concept designs, etc.). Understand and meet R&D’s requirements for device quality and quantity in line with project timelines. ► Lead major device alternate source programs working closely with R&D, program management, regulatory affairs and manufacturing. ► Serve as the primary liaison between device sourcing and internal stakeholders; serve as the primary liaison between our internal stakeholders and the external suppliers. ► Enable the company to be on time to market and market leader in technology by using technical expertise to develop new sources of device parts and technology as needed. ► Serve as a technical resource for R&D during the identification and evaluation of potential suppliers – including evaluation of technical documents (design master files, development reports, etc.); technical evaluation of supplier’s capabilities; technical evaluation of supplier’s manufacturing facilities.
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS ►Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or other related field is required. Master’s degree is preferred. ► 5-8 years experience working with electronics and electromechanical technologies. Experience in medical device manufacturing and/or intellectual property evaluation is desirable. This Sourcing Manager will be the resident expert on device related technical matters. ►We have a strong preference for sourcing experience in a regulated industry (e.g. pharmaceutical, food). ►Project Management experience is highly desired. ►Demonstrated experience developing and implementing global sourcing strategies that have yielded measurable business results against a 5% annual savings target. ►Skills in all procurement processes including commodity management, supplier management, negotiations, contract management and e-procurement systems. ►Global Strategic Sourcing expertise; strategic ability to develop high impact sourcing strategies. ►Strong leadership skills and communication skills. ►Ability to build relationships and credibility across the organization; works effectively with cross functional teams; able to function in a matrix environment. ►Executional Excellence: Ability to get things done and multi-task; acts with a sense of urgency; able to prioritize; excellent decision making/judgment skills. ►Strong negotiation skills; exceptional problem solving and analytical skills. ►Business and financial acumen. ►Ability to travel 25%. |
